Business Model
GreenPeptide is the drug discovery venture company launched by Kurume University. Our strong connection to the University makes it easier for us to gather the clinical data required to secure approval for new technologies and new pharmaceutical agents, and makes it possible for us to focus particular attention on the development of pharmaceutical agents that show special promise.
At this stage, we are developing pharmaceutical agents based on the accumulated results of basic and clinical research carried out at Kurume University, however, it generally takes a long time for a new agent to gain approval and enter the market.
Therefore, we have developed a business model in which we ask pharmaceutical-related companies to fund development costs at each stage of the development process, i.e. at the initial contract stage, at the phase I trial stage, and at the phase II trial stage.
For this reason, we are currently negotiating joint development agreements with several pharmaceutical-related companies at home and abroad.

Model 1
In-House Development
Although the costs of clinical trials are very high, in some cases the Company will use its own funds to cover development costs until approval is gained from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Joint Development
As clinical trials at present are extremely expensive, the Company will invite other companies to share development costs until approval can be gained from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Joint Marketing
We will market our products independently, and/or jointly with companies that have their own sales and distribution networks.
Licensing-Out (Grant of Exclusive Marketing Rights, Joint Marketing)
We may grant exclusive sales rights or joint marketing rights to other companies.
In this case the Company will aim to become a supplier.

Model 2

Model 3
Licensing-Out (Grant of Exclusive Marketing Rights, Joint Marketing)

Development by Other Companies
In this case the company that has been licensed by GreenPeptide assumes primary responsibility for the cost of developing the pharmaceutical agent until approval is received from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Sales by Other Companies
In this case, marketing will be conducted independently by the company that has received the marketing rights.
Licensing-Out (Grant of Exclusive Marketing Rights, Joint Marketing)
In this case, the licensed company may further license-out its marketing rights to other companies and market the products jointly.

Model 4
