It has been known that peptides capable of
inducing an immune response differ depending on the patient's
genotype. Recently, results obtained from exploratory clinical
research carried out at the Kurume University School of Medicine
have shown that even in patients with the same HLA phenotype
the peptides which can induce an immune response the differ
from one patient to another.
Therefore, before starting the treatment,, high response peptides
are selected for each patient from among peptide vaccine candidates
by evaluating the patient's specific immune response to each
candidate peptide.
In this way a personalized peptide vaccine can be optimized
for each patient, and treatment can be performed in an outpatient
clinic, allowing the patient to maintain his usual daily life. |
